It is the goal of our 5th grade team to prepare students for the challenges ahead by focusing on improving organizational skills, developing solid work habits, and instilling a sense of personal responsibility. With that in mind, homework given in 5th grade reflects the curriculum with an emphasis on the quality of work as opposed to quantity.
Daily homework assignments are not posted on this webpage. Notetaking, listening, and organizational skills are vital for academic success. Subsequently, students are expected to accurately copy homework assignments from the board. All homework is explained in full, and students are encouraged to ask questions to clarify assignments. At the end of each day, students are reminded and expected to organize their bookbag and gather needed materials to complete assignments at home. Practicing these procedures will help to build better listening and organizations skills.
