    SCHOOL NEWS  

    NEW! From the Superintendent of Schools: There will be a virtual Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, October 6 at 6:00 PM. Zoom meeting ID and Passcode can be found on the agenda.

    Little Free Library: Take a Book! Leave a Book! Here is how it works. 

    From the Health Office: Farmington Valley Health has provided COVID-19 Protocols. This is a daily screening for parents to use when determining whether or not to send their child to school. 

    Please keep your child home if they have experienced any of the following in the past 24 hours:

    • Fever of over 100.4 (and above)
    • New or worsening cough
    • Shortness of breath
    • Sore throat
    • Diarrhea
    • New loss of taste of smell
    • Contact with a person with known or suspected COVID 19

    If you answer "yes" to any of the above please stay home, self isolate and contact your physician. Please notify the nurse if you or your child has had close contact with a person diagnosed with COVID 19 or if you have traveled via airplane internationally or domestically to a state on Connecticut's travel advisory list. Please keep the student home. 

    After School Care: The BASES Antolini program would like to share information about the program available to all New Hartford students. 

     

    PTO NEWS

    • Project Playground: We are running a Butter Braid Pastry Fundraiser this fall to benefit Project Playground. Stock up on yummy pastry beginning 10/5/20. Return your form by 10/23 and pick up 11/10. For more information about the playground just click here
    • Spirit Day: Don't forget to celebrate New Hartford Public Schools by wearing red on the first Friday of the month! 
    • We are continuing with our gotsneakers? program! There are collection boxes at each of our schools. All proceeds benefit Project Playground

     

    COMMUNITY NEWS

    • NEW! Race Around the Lake: Last chance to sign up! Runners can run the race anytime from now to October 5, 2020. We've marked the course and there is a map online. If you can'g get to West Hill Pond, you can run the 3.5 miles elsewhere. You will need to complete a registration. When you have completed your run, fill out the race log online. Those who complete the race will get a t-shirt and place winners will get a certificate. The annual race is now virtual.
    • NEW! Girl Scout Pleasant Meadow Service Unit: Our girls have painted friendship rocks and placed them on hiking trails in Barkhamsted and New Hartford. There are 58 rocks! Here are the details
    • Avon Hockey: Once again Avon Hockey is hosting Learn to Skate. In house programs begin 10/18/2020.
    • SCOUT ME IN: Joining Night will be held on Thursday, October 8, and there are many ways to join! You can be a Cub Scout. You can be a Boy Scout. You can even join a Girl Troop--not Girl Scouts but Girls under Boy Scouts of America. 
    • The Beekley Library: Knot! Knot! Knot! Want to learn Macramé with local artist Linda Dick? Here is the info on four different classes.
