It is the goal of our 5th grade team to prepare students for the challenges ahead by focusing on  improving organizational skills, developing solid work habits, and instilling a sense of personal responsibility.  With that in mind, homework given in 5th grade reflects curriculum with an emphasis on the quality of work as opposed to quantity.  You can easily check homework assignments for each day by looking at your students's homework binder.  Your student will copy all homework assignments off the homework board and into their homework binder.  This is completed at the end of each day.  The homework is clearly explained and the expectations should be easily understood.  If you find you are having difficulty understanding what your student has for homework or when something is due,  please let me know as soon as possible.  You can email me, send in a note, or call.

*Daily homework assignments are not posted on this website.  Again, notetaking, listening, and organizational skills are vital for academic success.  All students are expected to accurately copy homework assignments from the board.  All homework is explained in detail and students are encouraged  to ask questions to clarify assignments.  At the end of each day, students are reminded and expected to organize their bookbags and gather needed materials to complete assignments at home.  These procedures will help to build better listening and organizational skills, and a sense of responsibility and academic independence.
