SCHOOL NEWS
NEW! From NHPS Administrative Team: We have been asked to share the following with staff and parents:
- The Connecticut State Board of Education has embarked on a legislatively required planning process designed to guide policy and practice improvements for the State Board and Department of Education on behalf of all of Connecticut's children over the next five years. A critical part of this effort is gathering feedback from all stakeholders to help inform decision-making around future department and board priorities. This data collection effort is being organized by the RESC Alliance, all key partners in the planning process. The easiest way to participate and influence this plan is to engage with the ThoughExchange conversation regarding the priorities for this plan. All educators and Connecticut residents are encouraged to add their voices at https://tejoin.com/scroll/732976567 This is a safe link, and all contributions are anonymous. It can take as little as 5-10 minutes to share your thoughts or to rate the thoughts of others.
NEW! Job Opening: If you are interested in a Physical Education .8 FTE Long Term Position at NHPS, please apply.
From the School Offices: We understand changes happen to daily dismissal schedules but we would like you to keep a few things in mind:
-
- Notes should be sent with your child only for the current day. We do not have the ability to input passes for future dates.
- It’s best if plans are discussed at home and followed up with a note. Dismissal time is very busy and it is difficult to verify a change via phone at that time.
- Again, we understand plans change, but late-day calls to the office create room for error.
- Students are not allowed to ride buses other than the one they are assigned to.
- Grade 6 Yearbook: Help our grade 6 students fund the yearbook and treat your family and friends to Lyman Orchard's Pies and Classic Cookie Dough! Click here to order and thank you!
- Antolini Students: Jump into the school year by joining the New Hartford High Flyers. Open gym on October 6 from 3:00-4:30. Send a note to stay late that day! Questions? Contact Stacy Quint at quints@newhtfd.org.
