Dear Bakerville and New Hartford Elementary Families,

My name is Alexandra Uscilla and I am excited to introduce myself as the School Psychologist at Bakerville and New Hartford Elementary School! After earning a Bachelors degree from the University of Hartford, I continued my education in their School Psychology Graduate program, where I obtained a Master of Science degree and Specialist Certificate in School Psychology and Child Clinical Counseling.  My role in your children's schools is to help students succeed academically, socially, behaviorally and emotionally. Within this site, I plan to provide you with quick access to information regarding parenting, learning, mental health, school psychology, and more.

As a school psychologist, I collaborate with teachers, parents, students, and community members to help create a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment for all students. I meet with students individually or in small group settings to provide counseling services, social skills lessons, or skill building in a variety of areas. I also provide instruction to classrooms as a whole to promote positive school climate.
I encourage children to visit my office anytime they need help or a quiet place to deal with their feelings. Children can also be referred to me by a teacher, administrator, or parent. Please let me know if there are questions I can answer for you or if I can help your child be more successful in school!

I am excited to begin this school year and look forward to getting to know you and your children!

Alexandra Uscilla, M.S., 6th Year., NCSP
