    RE: FREE/REDUCED MEAL INFORMATION FOR GRADES K-6

     

    Dear Parent/Guardian:

     

    We are pleased to inform you that New Hartford Public Schools will once again participate in the National School Grab and Go Breakfast (available at Ann Antolini School only) and the National School Lunch Program. These programs provide quality and healthy meals and financial assistance to those who qualify.

     

    Applications for Free or Reduced Price Meals are available on the district website at www.newhtfd.org/page/1420, by contacting your child’s school office, or by calling Janet Terenzi at 860-379-8546 or email: terenzij@newhtfd.org. Please note that you are still required to submit a new application even if your child received benefits last year. Lunch menus are posted on the district website at https://www.newhtfd.org/Page/71.

     

    Those who complete an application will be notified and benefits will begin once the application has been completed. Based on qualifications, a student’s breakfast will either be free, reduced (30¢) or full price ($1.75). Lunch will be free, reduced (.40¢) or full price ($3.00).

     

    We strongly encourage utilizing the convenient feature of paying on-line, however, there are other options as noted below:

     

    1. PAY ON LINE. Visit newhtfd.org. Click on the Food Services Tab and follow the prompts.
    2. You may pay weekly, bi-weekly; or monthly with cash or check made payable to the NEW HARTFORD LUNCH PROGRAM. (Please note that there will be a $20.00 charge for any check returned for insufficient funds.) If paying by cash or check, put the check or cash in the envelope with your child’s full name on it. Write the amount enclosed, your child’s grade and teacher’s name on the envelope.
    3. Ala carte items will be sold on a cash basis and cannot be charged. To view our menu please visit newhtfd.org Food Services Lunch Menus.

     

    The district strongly discourages meal charging, but understands that an occasional emergency makes it necessary. All charged lunches must be paid within 10 days. Students who accrue a balance of -$25.00 will not be able to purchase a meal and will instead be offered an alternate meal.

     

    Grab and Go Breakfast and lunch will begin on the first day of school, which is August 31, 2020. Thank you for your support of the New Hartford School Lunch Program.
