    SCHOOL NEWS

    • New Hartford High Flyers: Stacy Quint will once again coach the New Hartford High Flyers in grades 3 -6. The group will meet on Thursdays from 3:00 until 4:30 in the Antolini gym. Consider joining to learn new individual and group skills while jumping! Permission slip should be returned to school before October 5. 
    • Grade 6 Yearbook: We will once again be running a fundraiser featuring Lyman Orchard Pie & Classic Cookie Dough. The proceeds will help defray the cost of the grade 6 yearbook. Contact Amy Morris at Mitchell.amy72@gmail for more info! The sale will begin on October 2, end on October 16 and delivery will be November 6. Thank you for your support! 
    • From the School Nurses: Covid guidelines have not changed. Test day or first day of symptoms is considered day zero. If you test positive for covid, you will have to stay out of school for 5 days. You can return on day 6 with a mask encouraged through day 10. Unfortunately, the nurses no longer have test kits to hand out. Thank you.

    • VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Please fill out the PTO Membership forms that were included in your Back to School email and send them into school. Find the form here.  
    • SHOW YOUR SCHOOL SPIRIT - Purchase NHPS Spirit Wear during our FALL SALE and your order will go home with your kids - no pickup needed! Sales close on Friday, October 13 and orders will arrive in time for the Spirit Day Competition in November. ORDER NOW!

    COMMUNITY NEWS

    • NEW! Highlander Soccer: Join us October 14 for HSC day! Games played all day at Browns Corner! Raffle prizes, fan gear and the Taco Shack!
    • NEW! New Hartford Youth Travel Basketball: Tryouts will be held October 22, 5-8PM at St. Joseph's Parish Center in Winsted.  Registration will be open September 29. 
    • NEW! Socktober: A group of Region 7 students, who call themselves Mission Impact, need your help in collecting new socks for the Norfolk Clothes Closet, Winsted and Torrington YMCA. Please see the flyer for more information.
    • NEW! New Hartford Recreation: Registration for basketball for grades 3-6 teams, practices and games as well as K-2 skills, fundamentals and scrimmages will begin soon. For more information, contact the rec department at 860-379-3980 or kdesntis@newhartfordct.gov. 
    • New Hartford Recreation: Come join the fun at the 2nd Annual Pumpkin Carving/Decorating Contest and Trick or Treating on October 31st! Registration for the contest is due by October 23rd. More information can be found here.
    • New Hartford Recreation: Ski Club (Grades 3-6) will begin on January 8th! Registration is due by November 9th. Additional information can be found here.
